Research & Development

What We Do:

Reser’s Center for Culinary Solutions is a 10,000 square foot kitchen and R&D lab filled with 20 crazy-smart chefs, food scientists, QA/QC technicians, microbiologists and food safety experts. On any given day, our team is hard at work creating the tastiest recipes around. Just a few activities include:

1. New Product Development

2. Commercialization

3. Product Safety

4. Consumer Insights

5. Sensory Testing

R&D Center in Action

Here's how we helped bring some killer mashed potatoes to folks across the country. A 500-unit quick serve restaurant made amazing mashed potatoes. But only at 39 of its locations. They were struggling with a real hot potato-product consistency. We sampled this menu item from several restaurants. Each unit had slightly different equipment and even different preparation methods. The result: inconsistent texture, appearance and not surprisingly, taste. We worked with their culinary pros to refine their 'signature' recipe. Then, we moved production from the back of their house to "our house." The mashed potatoes were standardized at two production facilities to exacting, and tasty, specifications. Now, this side is spud-tacular, whether you're in Dallas or Duluth.
